Good plant care comes down to matching each plant to the right light, water and soil — then staying consistent. This guide covers the basics for Iraqi homes, from Baghdad summers to cooler northern winters.

Start with light, not water
Most plant problems start with the wrong light. Place bright-light plants near a south or west window and low-light plants a couple of meters back. Rotate pots weekly so growth stays even.

معظم مشاكل النباتات تبدأ من الضوء الخاطئ. ضع النباتات المحبة للضوء قرب نافذة جنوبية أو غربية، والنباتات ذات الإضاءة المنخفضة على بعد مترين. أدر السنادين أسبوعياً لينمو النبات بشكل متوازن.
Water by the plant, not the calendar
Feel the top 2–3 cm of soil. Water only when it's dry for most houseplants. In Iraqi summers plants drink faster; in winter they need much less. NBTA builds a per-plant schedule so you never guess.

المس أول 2–3 سم من التربة. اسقِ أغلب النباتات المنزلية عندما تجف. في الصيف العراقي تشرب النباتات أسرع، وفي الشتاء تحتاج ماءً أقل بكثير. يبني تطبيق نبتة جدولاً لكل نبتة حتى لا تخمّن.
Give roots the right soil and a pot that drains
Use a well-draining mix and a pot with a drainage hole. Standing water is the fastest way to root rot. Refresh soil once a year and repot when roots circle the bottom.
امنح الجذور تربة مناسبة وسنادين تصرّف الماء
استخدم خليطاً جيد التصريف وسنادين بفتحة تصريف. الماء الراكد أسرع طريق لتعفن الجذور. جدّد التربة مرة سنوياً وانقل النبتة لسنادين أكبر عندما تلتف الجذور في القاع.
